You’ve been waiting patiently for your new OEAK wireless bra to arrive. You finally get the package, pop open that cute little hard-shell box, unroll your new favorite bra, and… wait.

Why does it look like there’s a permanent wrinkle right in the center of the bra pad?

First of all: Don’t panic! Your bra is not defective, and those wrinkles are not permanent. If you’ve just unboxed your bra and noticed a crease or a dimple right at the center of the cup, you are experiencing what we call a "shipping crease." Here is exactly why it happens, how to make it disappear in minutes, and how to keep your bras looking perfectly smooth.

Why Do My New Bra Pads Have Wrinkles?

It all comes down to the journey your bra took to get to your doorstep.

To ensure your bras arrive safely and to minimize our carbon footprint with excessive packaging, we carefully roll our bras and place them into compact, protective hard-shell boxes. This sturdy little box is fantastic at protecting the delicate fabric and the wireless support structures from getting crushed under heavier packages during transit.

However, the pads inside our bras are made of incredibly soft, highly compressible foam. When they are rolled up snugly for a few days (or weeks) and exposed to changing temperatures during shipping, the foam temporarily "remembers" that folded shape. The result? A little crease or dimple right in the middle of the pad.

Think of it just like pulling a silk dress out of a tightly packed suitcase—it just needs a little TLC to relax!

How to Wake Up the Foam: 3 Easy Fixes

Foam responds beautifully to two things: Heat and Moisture. Here are the three best ways to instantly smooth out those shipping creases so your bra is ready to wear.

Fix 1: The Garment Steamer (The 60-Second Miracle)

If you own a hand-held clothing steamer, you’re in luck. This is the absolute best and fastest way to fix a creased pad!

  • Take the pad out of the bra (or leave it in, both work!).
  • Hold your steamer about 2 to 3 inches away from the creased area.
  • Blast the wrinkle with steam for about 15-30 seconds.
  • The Magic: The hot moisture penetrates the foam, causing it to instantly expand, puff up, and release the crease. Smooth it gently with your fingers and let it cool.

Fix 2: The Warm Water Spa (Best Before First Wear)

We always recommend washing your intimates before wearing them for the first time anyway, so this method kills two birds with one stone.

  • Remove the creased pads from the bra.
  • Fill a sink or bowl with warm water (not boiling, just nicely warm).
  • Submerge the pads completely and gently massage the creased area with your thumbs underwater.
  • Let them soak for 5 minutes. The warm water helps the foam expand back to its original shape.
  • Gently squeeze out the excess water (never wring or twist!) and lay them flat on a towel to air dry.

Fix 3: The Damp Towel & Hairdryer Hack

No steamer? No problem.

  • Remove the pad and lay it on a flat surface.
  • Take a clean washcloth, dampen it with warm water, and wring it out so it's not dripping.
  • Place the damp cloth directly over the wrinkled part of the pad.
  • Take your hairdryer on a warm (not hot) setting and blow it over the damp cloth for about a minute. The heat and the dampness will create a mini steam-room effect, plumping the foam right back up!

Pro-Tips for Perfect Pads

To keep your pads looking flawless long after unboxing, keep these quick tips in mind:

  • Unbox immediately: Don't leave your new bras rolled up in their shipping boxes for weeks. Take them out and let them breathe as soon as they arrive!
  • Store them flat: When putting them away in your dresser, never fold one cup inside the other (inverting the cup ruins the shape). Lay them flat, nesting the cups behind one another like they do at a lingerie store.

We are here for you! 99% of the time, steam or warm water will completely erase shipping creases. However, if you've tried the tips above and that stubborn wrinkle simply refuses to leave, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer care team at support@oeak.com.
